Initial Startup Materials and Needs
*All items and buildings will be made of completely natural materials.
*All bedding and clothing made of natural color organic cotton.
- At least 2,000 acres of raw, fertile land with a year-round river flowing through it and good, substantial groundwater for drinking, bathing, and cleaning.
- Digging of a well with a hydraulic pump and a water tank.
- Outdoor plumbing to distribute water to all of the buildings as deemed necessary.
- Tall iron fencing around perimeter of property in which grape, passion, and tomato vines will grow around to provide privacy and protection.
- Thirty to forty one bedroom guesthouses depending on the number of doctors on hand and their ability to handle all of the guest's needs. The houses will be all made of stone and metal. The homes will be screened in providing fresh air from all directions into the home. There will be an overhead outdoor shower directly next to the home for bathing as well as a water spigot and a composting toilet. There will be no fruit trees in this area of the property surrounding the guest's homes. This will be the only area of the property that does not grow fruit trees. Instead the homes will be surrounded by other native trees that grow big and tall to provide sufficient shade. Other beautiful ornamental flowers will grow as well. Furniture will consist of a comfortable lounge chair made of wood or bamboo with cotton padding and a bed frame with a cotton mattress for padding and a little table. Outside each home will be a comfortable cot for lying down on as well as a chair. Additionally, a solarium made of tall stone walls separating genders will be built in this area.
- Doctor clinic with desk, chair, and patient files with a lock on the door.
- Homes for the workers located around the perimeter of property, garden, and entrance. Each home will be made of stone and metal with screens to provide fresh air, an overhead outdoor shower, water spigot, and a composting toilet. Homes will be furnished with a king size bed for the parents and additional mattresses for the children, wooden chairs, a table, and shelves for storage. Outside will be comfortable cots and a clothesline.
- Planting of 150,000 fruit trees
- 10 grapevines
- 20 passion fruit vines (Sweet Passion).
- 50 palm trees
- 30 baobab trees
- 100 bamboo plants around perimeter of property.
- Storehouses, kitchen, and sewing building are all located in a central area near the vegetable gardens for women and children to gather.
- Vegetable gardens and nursery with wooden tables and planters all surrounded by a wooden fence. Preparation and planting of vegetable gardens and cotton fields with heirloom seeds of all varieties. Cotton is a very important crop.
- Stone storehouse with shelving for seeds.
- Stone storehouse for food with shelves and no windows to keep the sun out and remain cool and screened-in shelves all around the perimeter.
- Stone kitchen with bowls, spoons, knives, water jugs, and glasses. Food will only be cut when large and not prepped or processed.
- Two stone presses located outside of kitchen for preparing juices and oils.
- Clothing line for drying washed clothes. 30 very large metal basins for washing clothes.
- Stone storehouse for clothing and linens.
- Stone storehouse to dry and store cotton before it is made into cloth.
- Two cotton gins.
- Stone sewing building with looms, sewing machines, and large tables for cutting cloth.
- Twenty sheep for grazing and wool.
- Stone platform for times of preaching, teaching, worship, and prayer in a central garden with cotton rugs for seating surrounded by stone pillars with a roof overhead.
- Three bridges for easy crossing at the river.
- Water vessels. Due to the size of the property, ease of transportation will be of utmost importance. We will utilize the river with canoes and rafts.
- Fifty large carts with wheels.
- I intend that one of the people that come to Choose Life will leave a home for us closer to civilization with a phone connection and electricity to operate one or two computers and answer phone calls for the Ministry. The people operating this will communicate and help guests leave and arrive and visit us on the land periodically throughout the week.
- Four tool sheds located around the property for storage. Shelves on all walls with wooden boxes for holding tools and equipment for farming and carpentry.
- Finally, we will build two resort homes for vacationers that want a rest. One will be sufficient for two guests and the other for four to six guests. They will be served all the fruits, vegetables, and water they desire. They will have their own area on the opposite side of the property. There will be a flat rate for a specific period of time and we will collect the money upon arrival. They will be right near the water. This money will provide for various needs for the Ministry. We will also receive donations and when appropriate, take money from those that have the finances from wealthier countries to pay for their stay. We will never deny a guest that needs us and sincerely wants our care based upon inability to pay for their care.
