EMPLOYEES OF CHOOSE LIFE ORGANIC FARM

Dominic Kimunge Wanderi is 26 years old. He is managing the nursery and farm operations for us on the farm. He is an experienced organic farmer from the Central Province of Kenya in Nyeri. He has yet to marry, but he plans to marry at the end of this year. He is living on Choose Life Organic Farm.

Patrick Wanderi is 24 years old. He is the younger brother of Dominic. He also is yet to marry, but he also would like to marry next year if he can be financially stable by that time. He is living on the farm with Dominic, Peter, and myself.

Peter Muriithi is our youngest worker at 19 years old. He comes from a very poor family. He is very strong and full of energy. He is living with us on the farm.

John Wanderi is 28 years old. He is the older brother to Dominic and Patrick. He has a wife and 1 small child. He has one more child coming this May 2007. He is living on his own farm plot a few kilometers distance from the Choose Life Organic Farm. Him and his family are living in a home built with mud and they are a long distance from clean water for drinking, bathing, and cleaning. We would like to construct a home on our farm so that they can be living and working together and the family will improve their lives living in a clean home with clean water and proper bathing and toilet facilities. For those wishing to help John and his family to have a home on the Choose Life Organic Farm please see the contact page for details.

Randu Kenga is our oldest worker at 32 years old. He also has the largest family with his wife and 4 children. 2 of his children have started to attend nursery school and next year they will begin primary school. He is the hardest worker I have ever known. He is amazingly strong! We are actively seeking finances to construct him and his family a home on the Choose Life Organic Farm. He lives approximately 7 km from the Choose Life Organic Farm. Not having a bicycle, he must walk each morning and evening. His family lives in a mud home that is a long distance from obtaining clean water. Their life is the most difficult of all. Please take the opportunity to visit the Contact page for details of how you can help this family improve their living conditions.

Salim Said Jibo is 31 years old. He lives in the village of Kilelengwani with his wife and children in a mud home. He has a farm plot of 15 acres where he grows nearly 1000 banana plants, coconuts, mangos, and some other fruits. He delivers fruits and vegetables for us on a daily basis ensuring we have the healthy food we need to continue to work towards sustainability. Salim is one of the most humble, hard working, and trustworthy persons I have worked with. I always look forward to his daily visits to the farm.

Julius Munuhe Wanderi is the oldest to Dominic, John, and Patrick. He works for the Witu Water Association. He was the first of the family to move from Nyeri in Central Province to Tana River District near the Coast. He comes to the farm to provide his expertise with farming and to offer supervisory assistance as needed.
